Lake Oswego High School chess team members are state champions.
The team won first overall in Cottage Grove in competition last Friday and Saturday.
The team also won first place for Varsity High School Chess Team Class 6A, Board One Varsity State Champion, and Board Three Varsity State Champion.

Perth Glory will head into their first A-League play-off campaign in confident mood after ending the season with a 2-0 win over Brisbane Roar at ME Bank Stadium.

Gold Coast United have missed their chance to finish in the top two on the ladder after falling to a 2-1 loss to North Queensland Fury 2-1 at Dairy Farmers Stadium.
A home crowd of 8517 cheered on as Fury won their last game of the season with goals from David Williams and Terry Cooke.
